Drug Uses:

Butalbital/APAP/Caffeine can be a barbiturate sedative blended with a non-aspirin pain medication (acetaminophen) and caffeine. This non-narcotic pain medication and relaxant is often prescribed for tension headaches a result of contractions with the muscles within the neck and shoulder area, and migraine.

How Taken:

Butalbital/APAP/Caffeine may come as a capsule and tablet to look at by mouth. The usual dosage is a to two tablets every 4-6 hours, but needs to be taken as directed through your physician. Total daily dosage shouldn’t exceed 6 tablets. Extended and repeated usage of this product isn’t recommended because with the potential for physical dependence.

Warnings/Precautions:

Butalbital/APAP/Caffeine may lead you to become drowsy or less alert; therefore, driving or operating dangerous machinery or participating in any hazardous activity that needs full mental alertness isn’t recommended until you know your reaction to this drug. If you are being treated for severe depression or have a very history of severe depression or drug abuse, seek advice from your doctor before you take Butalbital/APAP/Caffeine. This medication contains acetaminophen (Tylenol), which can be toxic to your liver which enable it to be fatal when take over the recommended dosage. The total daily dose of acetaminophen must not exceed 4000mg (4g), or 2000mg (2g) if you are elderly or possibly a chronic user of acetaminophen. Keep in mind that many over-the-counter products contain acetaminophen, and each tablet of this system contains 325mg. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, inform your medical professional immediately. Butalbital/APAP/ Caffeine can affect a developing baby. It also appears in breast milk. If this drugs are essential in your health, your doctor may help you to discontinue breastfeeding baby until your treatment methods are finished.

Missed Dose:

Take the missed dose whenever you remember it. However, if it is almost time for one more dose, skip the missed dose and continue your family dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to produce up for any missed one.

Butalbital/APAP/Caffeine overdose is indicated by severe drowsiness, confusion, extreme weakness, hallucination, breathlessness, too slow or troubled breathing, slurred speech, not enough coordination, vomiting with blood, unusually slow heartbeat.
